There you have it! It's not that hard to do the landscape, it just takes some getting used to. Once you've made a landscape you can open it in your post-processing program such as PaintShop Pro and add other items to the finished image such as boats, waterfalls, people, the moon, etc.

You can zoom in really close to the fractal landscape and actually go through the little valleys in the fractal. It can be quite interesting as you do this.

One extra note. If your system does not support OpenGL you may need to download this zip file containing some dll files that will help your system deal with this feature. The zip file has 2 dlls files that you need to unzip into the folder that contains Fractal Explorer. Once you do that you should be able to play with landscapes.

Below you find the spot file for the finished image shown on the last page (click on the image to get the zipped landscape spot).

Below are links to webpages that will show some landscapes, explain what you are seeing, and will have a zip file for you to download with the images you see on the webpage, the fractal spot file, and the landscape spot file. There is also a link to explain the navigation controls as well as a link to a page with more detailed landscapes that were modified using photoshop.
These links should open up into a new browser window.

Below are some gif files made frame by frame, saving each image after moving the frame once. At first all of the frames were opened in PSP's Animation Shop and rendered into a gif file but they were too slow when viewing, by using every other image the animation became faster, less tedious to watch, and generally smoother moving. I've made a few AVI's but am dismayed by the size of them. Each image will open up into a new window.
