Fractal Explorer Landscape Navigation Control Tutorial
You will need to close this browser window since it should have opened up seperately from the previous browser window of the Landscape Tutorial Page 18. When you open up the landscape mode you will see the navigation controls to the right of your screen. This is what they look like.
You click on these controls when you want to spin the landscape on it's axis. Try it, it's interesting especially when you spin the front of the island down into the water and the back of the island goes into the air. Keep spinning it and usually you'll see an interesting thing happen.
With these controls you move the whole island/landscape towards or away from you or left and right.
With these controls you feel like you are spinning around in circles or looking up into the air or down towards your feet.
With these two arrows you feel as if you are moving yourself closer and farther from the island. The movement is slightly different from what the controls highlighted as 2 do.
With this control you can make the landscape larger or smaller depending upon what your computer can handle. Generally speaking, the larger you can make it the better, if you have to reduce the size at a later date that is fine because that will anti-alias (or get rid of the jaggies in the image) for you. One thing I've noticed is that if the image is bigger than your screen the image may not be saved correctly, anything that is off the screen may be a bunch of lines. So you may have to raise your screen resolution in order to get a larger image.
