The mysterious color palette isn't really so mysterious! There are many things you can do with the color palette that are not so obvious at first... You can save a palette, load a palette you've saved or someone sent to you, or manipulate a palette to your hearts content... There are millions of combinations just with the palette alone - that's millions of fractals you can get out of one fractal! You'd be amazed at how different one fractal can look just by changing the color... And, that is what this particular page is about, the different effects a color change can cause on a fractal...
On the one page in this tutorial you will see one fractal that was changed just by using the different default palettes available in Fractal Explorer... Plus, there are a few that were changed by using some "user defined" palettes... A few fractals look absolutely dreadful, and that happens sometimes, you just continue plugging along until you find just the right combination... A winning color palette can make or break a fractal and you have to have a good eye... There are times when you can see the potential in a fractal and you can spend over an hour or more trying to get it perfect by playing with the color controls... Just hang in there, sometimes you are surpised by the results!
On the other page you will see an example of the color control box... This page gives a brief overview of the box... We also have some more explanations about the color box within our tutorial pages so, if one doesn't help you hopefully the other will!
